5 Bible Passages to Inspire Your Distance Learning Child

One of the strongest ways to inspire your child during times of unease and confusion is through faith. By coming together as a family to share in your love of Christ, you can better support your child in his or her distance learning and push them toward success.
Below are five Bible passages that you can share with your child as your family navigates these new learning environments. For younger children, these passages are perfect for reading time together, either as part of their Catholic learning curriculum or independently as a family. Older children will benefit from reading these passages on their own, and as a parent, you can encourage them to further explore their faith in Christ and find inspiration on their own.
Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
This passage will instill the necessary hope in your child that better days are to come. Encourage your child not to dwell on the things that they cannot change but to look forward to the brighter future of joy and happiness that the Lord promises.
Proverbs 17:17
A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity.
In this time of COVID-19, adversity is all around us. Right now, your child may be experiencing strong feelings of fear and confusion. Ensure that he or she understands that love surrounds us, from our family and friends as well as the Lord, and that we are never alone so long as we maintain trust in our faith.
Romans 8:31
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
To be full of joy, hope, and happiness is to find peace in circumstance. No matter the trial, your child is capable of surviving and thriving in any impediment, and it’s important to instill this knowledge at every point of the learning process.
As you learn and work together as a family, revel in the strength of your faith to foster an environment of love, care, understanding, and inspiration.
